The construction on this pack is top notch. The exterior fabric is durable but still pliable. The interior pockets are all lined with a smoother material that makes them softer to the touch. All the zippers work great and the hardware is heavy duty. The molle attachment points are placed well where accessories can be attached and they won’t be in the way. There are external straps for a bedroll or jacket. Lastly, the padding on the back of the pack is thick and firm and feels good against your back.The front pocket is molded and has a hard shell. This is a great feature. You can protect more perishable items like sunglasses, optics, GPS units, or similar items and still have quick access to them. The mid compartment is interesting in that it is intended for a sidearm. It accesses on either side by zippers for right and left hand shooters. There is an adjustable holster and hook and loop so you can get the cant on your holster just right. This is also a great feature. By dedicating this compartment to your weapon if/when you need it there isn’t any other gear to get in the way. The other two main compartments are spacious and general use and include some zippered pockets and dividers to help you keep things organized.Two things hung me up from giving this product 5 stars. The first is the firearm compartment. While I like the idea of a dedicated compartment tor a weapon, there aren’t any pockets for extra magazine storage. The size of that compartment provides plenty of room for a row of at least 4 magazines, but it has no pockets. So, if you want to have extra mags in the same compartment you would have to pack them loose in the bottom. If you did that you would have to fish for them to reload or possibly have them fall out when you opened the compartment. The other issue I noticed is the padding on the shoulder straps. This packs can hold a lot of gear, and if you pack it full it can be pretty heavy. The padding on the shoulder straps doesn’t seem thick enough to handle heavy loads for extended periods of time. I think increasing the padding or making the straps themselves a little wider would help offset the shoulder strain.That being said, this is a great pack for a variety of uses. I plan on using this for traveling, hiking, off roading, and hunting to name a few. The available features and durability are a great value for the price.
