I installed this in my 1997 Volvo 850R.I set the boost at a conservative 10.5 PSI. This thing is really accurate. You just set the boost you want and forget about it. It doesn’t go 0.1 PSI more than my set 10.5 PSI. I don’t really have to worry about over-boosting or anything. Now, this may just be a characteristic of Volvo 850’s, but I had to drive a little more conservatively in the lower RPM’S. This boost controller really allows boost to build early and on my car that risks bending the rods. So I had to learn not to get on it too hard below 3K RPM but when my car is in sport mode that’s not really a problem since the RPM’s build up fast enough. This is no fault of the boost controller and is just a characteristic of most manual boost controllers. In fact, Hallman warns you of this phenomenon in the instructions.Overall I’m really happy with my purchase. I feel the car is boosting way more accurately and I know I can turn up the boost with more supporting mods. I highly recommend this boost controller. There are also many car forums ranging from Subaru, Mitsubishi, and Volvo that highly recommend this model.
