I purchased the version with the strainer that raises up at the touch of a button. It not only makes it easier to reach the food in the soup, but it also keeps the bottom of the pot a little bit cleaner, so you have less clean-up work at the end.Having the heating element in the center, rather than heating up the whole bottom portion, is brilliant. The push buttons are very easy to use, and there’s no heat nearby to pose a risk to your fingers.It is very easy to adjust the temperature. We put it on High when we first put the meat in the pot, to get it cooked, and then move it down to Low to keep it warm while we eat. It is much easier to operate than any hot pot I’ve experienced at a restaurant.Excellent size for 2-4 hungry people. Don’t fill the broth all the way to the max line at the beginning–you need to leave room for your meats and veggies.
