It is a known problem for the upper Eye fitting on standard fitment rear shocks to break off due to lack of sideways movement. A Pin fixing allows more movement in all directions without breaking off as has been well proven over the years by my Pin/Pin Rear Shock mount. Take a look at our kits. 2″ Shocks – These can be used… • Standard Ride Height up to 3” Lift • Rear Anti Roll Bars must be removed with longer travel shocks As these shock absorbers are longer travel than standard extended Brake Hoses will be required along with, Spring Retainers and spring Re-locators and if fitted with a lift Spring you will need Extended Bump Stops, if you have a Rear Anti Roll Bar fitted you will have to remove it for off road use as the longer travel will cause the Anti Roll Bar Drop Links to flip over We include instructions on how to correctly fit the upper eye bushes and washers, it is very important that the top eye bushes are fitted as we show, incorrect fitment is the main cause of eye breaking off the shocks. Protect the shock absorber from paint chips and rust by using this GL1249, Shock Absorber Protection Heat Shrink. These shocks are supplied fully assembled with bushes and our bush isolation washers fitted at each end. These isolation washers are important, as they help prevent wear to the shock absorber pin and allow for better flexibility. On later rear axles, the original cup washers are spot welded in by 4 spot welds. All 4 cup washers must be removed, as they restrict movement and can cause the shock pin to break off.  All our shocks come with new cup washers. Please fit them as shown in the instructions that come with each shock absorber.
